If you haven't noticed, we've been taking a much needed break these past couple of months. The slow season for fashion was upon us and we decided to conserve our energy. We did continue to post events and let people know what was going on but we didn't publish new articles or new video. If you didn't know, Nashville Fashion Events is completely funded by myself and my partner in business and girlfriend, Alicia Boswell. However, it is an expensive endeavor and we are looking for ways to at least get enough capital to expand our operations to cover and do more.  We have explored everything from advertising, sponsorship to directly charging for subscriptions. Nashville Fashion Events has a sister site, Style Promenade, which we use to shine a spotlight on fashionable people in Nashville. Both Nashville Fashion Events and Style Promenade are owned by Fashion Bytes, Inc. Style Promenade actually launched in the middle of December of 2010 and has been very successful. It received over 30,000 hits just during the month of February in 2011. The premise of Style Promenade is to catch fashionable people at events and at pedestrian areas in Nashville. That concept in itself isn't all that new. Some have suggested we are the Sartorialist of Nashville. As many of you know, Couture Fashion Magazine was hosting Fashion Week Nashville starting on September 7th 2010. However, we recently found out that this event was canceled and rescheduled with a new date that has yet to be determined. But we hear (from their twitter stream) it's some time in early November. We did reach them for comment on why the event was rescheduled. Their comments were that the event was rescheduled due to low response and due to some arrangements with venues that left them unable to sell tickets at the door. Now, we all know that Nashvillians are always FASHIONABLY late buying tickets for events ;) However, with an event such as this, it's important that we buy tickets early and online so the host is aware of how many people are going to be in attendance. Since March of this year we have been building content for Alicia Boswell's website. Mostly doing videos that centered around giving people information about what events were going on and some minor coverage of events that Alicia was in as a model. The episodes we did were called 'Alicia Boswells Fashion Mashup'. This had some pretty good success. We did a total of 29 videos. That includes 11 of the interviews we did as well.  More recently we decided there was a real interest in this kind of content for Nashville.
