Kate Wise, also known as mK, is a freelance writer and lifestyle blogger at FromtheGuestroom.com where she writes on fashion, food, faith, hospitality and more. Prior to her recent move to Nashville, Kate's experience focused mostly on fashion, the arts and non-profit having worked with the Colorado based organization, Light Gives Heat, which empowers women artisans in East Uganda through two stylish accessories lines, Suubi & Epoh. Prior to her work with LGH, she spent a number of years living abroad working as an event manager for a non-profit style Music, Arts and Dance School in Brisbane, Australia. Through her travels around the globe, she learned that there is so much to be learned and inspired from the people placed along our journeys, thus the reason behind her blog, where she also shares about all the unique guests in her life. This inspiration carries over into many other areas of her life as she enjoys filling her wardrobe with clothes & accessories from other countries, reading books set in far off places and eating lots and lots of Asian food.

The night was all about style at the 14th Annual Eloise O’more College of Design 2012 Student Fashion Show. I knew the night was in for some fun and fresh looks as soon as I took my first step into The Factory where the show was held. From the gorgeous color block maxi dress worn by show co-host, CMT’s #1 Music and a Movie host, Alecia Davis, to the pale peach asymmetrical hemline dress worn by a fellow attendee, the latest trends in fashion were not only on the runway, but also in the seats surrounding it.
