“You are no longer in Nashville. You have all been whisked away to Manhattan,” declared Superbowl champion Ben Utecht, MC of the Dillard’s Grand Reopening Celebration held at Green Hills Mall last Tuesday. (We have video at the end of the article)

For a few hours, Nashville was transformed into Bryant Park as models strutted down the runway presenting 62 different looks.

Highlights of the fashion show included bold colorblock looks from BCBG and Calvin Klein...

Neutrals by Ralph Lauren and Daniel Cremieux...

and evening wear by Adrianna Papell, DKNY, and Michael Kors...

Fur, sequins, towering heels, and luxury fabrics took center stage during the show.

The event not only served as a celebration of Dillard’s recent renovations, but also as a benefit for childhood cancer research for Vanderbilt’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. The stylish crowd was decked out in a variety of on-trend ensembles, including sheer lace, Navajo-inspired wraps, sixties tweed, and crisp black suits. Spotted in the fashionable front row was footwear designer Arturo Chiang, who has his own line at Dillard’s.

After the fashion show, guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and private shopping. Before country artist Phil Vassar serenaded the crowd, he gave us a taste of his runway skills and graced the catwalk. He is a true entertainer. After modeling the chic vest, he gave it away to a woman sitting in the front just a few seats down from me! He took requests from the crowd and explained how his piano was painted by a local Nashvillian.

The evening was, as Utecht put it best, “a true celebration of fashion, community, and family.”
