Last year we put on our wildly successful inaugural photography contest that brought to the attention of our team of editors and photographs the vast and creative pool of local amateur photographers here in Nashville. We’re still saying, wow! Which is why we’re so excited to announce our photography contest this April!

We want your best shot! Get to your laptop, desktop, or iPad and choose your greatest image on the planet that will stop a heart beating, email it to us! (Details for entry are listed below.)

We can’t wait to see Nashville’s best works of amateur photography!

The Winnings:
The top three winners will have their photograph featured in our June 2011 issue. And to kick it up a notch, a $500 gift certificate to Dury’s will be awarded to the first-place photograph. We’ve also partnered with the wonderful folks at The Renaissance Center to host a Nashville Arts Magazine Photography Exhibition of the top 25 photographers chosen. If your photograph is amongst the top 25, you will have the opportunity to exhibit your winning image in the first-ever Nashville Arts Magazine’s top 25 exhibition, hosted at The Renaissance Center. The opening ceremony takes place June 10 with an artists’ reception from 6-8 p.m.; the show will run through July 2. All events are free and open to the public.

Look for the June issue where all the winning photographs will be announced.

In May, your image will be presented before our panel of 5 judges in our Nashville Arts projection room where hours of in-depth discussion will occur and the top 25 images will emerge. From that culled pool of incredible images, our judges will choose the top 3 winning photographs.
