The Tennessee State Museum Foundation’s sixth annual Sparkle & Twang, an event benefiting the Foundation’s operating activities and celebrating the Museum’s Costume and Textile Institute, saluted the 2011 Costume & Textile Institute’s inductees. Among the inductees were Mike Smith, the Group Publisher of the Nashville Scene, Nfocus Magazine, City Paper, Her Nashville, Nashville Medical News, Nashville Post.com and the Nashville Post Magazine, and his colleagues, the Nashville Fashion Week Co-Founders: Connie Cathcart-Richardson, Scott McClure, Cindy Wall, Marcia Masulla and Robert Campbell. They conceived, created, developed and produced the inaugural 2011 Lexus Nashville Fashion Week, a phenomenally successful citywide celebration of the area’s thriving fashion and retail community. Fashion Week’s proceeds have been designated to benefit the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund, a newly created endowment at the Community Foundation which will support a rising star within the fashion arts who demonstrates extraordinary promise. See who else was honored and all the sparkle and twang that filled the room!
